Pillar #5: Advancing and Advocating for the Cause of Justice
The American College of Attorneys® advocates for the cause of justice and in the interest of our attorney members and the public.
Supporting the ACA is a heritage you can be proud of; a gift to the ACA is an investment in the future of lawyers and their clients. Our goal is to advance the cause of justice through social action and political action. In order to execute and fulfill our goal, we constantly strive to build a solid foundation to mobilize in every State and at the national level.
One of the most important focuses in political and social action is ensuring that the judicial branch is treated as a separate co-equal branch of government and funded accordingly. In too many States, the judicial branch is funded as an agency, rather than a co-equal branch of government. Unfortunately, the funding accorded to courts in most States is woefully insufficient. One of the results of poor funding is that cases linger and litigants are left in legal purgatory. The ACA understands that justice delayed is justice denied. The ACA also understands that fostering business and encouraging business development to depend on a predictable, efficient and time-sensitive judicial system. We believe that proper funding of the Courts protects the citizenry, fosters business and advances the cause of justice.
We count on our members and the community to support our cause financially. The financial support that we receive allows us to advance all of the pillars of our mission. The financial support we receive also allows us to pursue our goal of advancing and advocating for the Cause of Justice through social and political action. We want donors to feel invested in the ACA and therefore, we allow donors to express preferences (or the pillar) on how they want their donations allocated. Whether your goal is supporting law school programs, local voluntary bar associations or social and political action, we promise to invest your gift wisely.
